As well as gates here there are new gates being installed on Gordon Lane. So go see the new Panda soon ( http://instagram.com/p/UZQNUPiYS0/ )

Does anyone know why access has been restricted? I read the planning notice but it didn't explain.

There is speculation here ; http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=98051383&postcount=112
NB this is from an Evening Times article.
I wonder if they will be open during the day to allow access or if it will be for keyholders to open and close as they need access to their bins etc.
We are having our city centre access nibbled away from us. What other gates can we expect if these are allowed to slip by?
How much of Merchant City will be gated for "safety" reasons stopping access to public streets. A lot of these issues could probably be sorted with decent lighting and other measures. rats hide in dark places.

Bringing this post up to date. The new home of Empire sign re-located from Tontine Lane to New Wynd.

Created by Scottish Turner Prize winning artist Douglas Gordon who took his inspiration from the neon sign from Hitchcock's film Vertigo
