Jumping in here with a wee announcement - after many years of procrastination, I finally got it together to seek out Harry Bell's family and I've managed to gain their permission and blessings to republish and update his work. I think there is enough interest out there to justify it; it seems people still want to learn more about Glasgow's Secret Geometry. I met a couple just a few weeks ago on the De'ils Plantin who had read the book and wanted to visit the sites.

The first stage of this is to recreate the old websites that his son Colin put together, the Glasgow Network of Aligned Sites, and so I present for your delectation and delight, Glasgow's Secret Geometry.

It's early days yet and a mammoth road lies ahead. They say that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. This is it.

I've just added an interactive map page to the Glasgow's Secret Geometry website.

This contains all the original Harry Bell alignments from Forgotten Footsteps and Glasgow's Secret Geometry (updated and corrected), some extra sites and alignments from my own researches (there's even a couple of HG references in there), and two of Alfred Watkins' Roman fort leys listed in the appendix of The Old Straight Track.

All with pop-up descriptions and OS grid references.

Well folks, I've finally finished editing the first outing with my Xmas pressie camera. Presenting...
Glasgow's Secret Geometry 01 - The De'il's Plantin - in which we begin our exploration of the Glasgow Network of Aligned Sites.

Hmmm...can't seem to get the Youtube linker thingy to work, does that need mod permission?

I've been a bit slower with this one - had to make three trips before I managed to get enough usable sound that wasn't completely swamped by wind noise. Spot the variations in the haircut!

Continuing my investigations of Glasgow's Secret Geometry, we explore the seldom-open and now-demolished site of the Templar All Hallow's Church in Inchinnan.

Govan Old Church is a site of immense historical importance and the earliest Christian site on the Clyde. The church houses a fantastic collection of early Medieval carved stones and Viking hogbacks, plus the amazing Govan Sarcophagus.

In which we explore the eastern point of the Glasgow Triangle...

Shot a fair bit of this with a new camera, but from the look of it, I didn't have the image stabilisation set correctly. Ah well, every day a learning adventure! :D

A wee walk up Duncryne Hill, exploring more of Harry Bell's alignments and discussing the Scottish Arthur.

Had to take the car over to Paisley for a bit of maintenance, so I took the opportunity to have a wee wander round a couple of Harry Bell's sightline centres from Glasgow's Secret Geometry, plus a couple I've added myself on what I'm calling the Ghost Ley of Paisley...
