What i heard was they were to be issued for the final day of the subway, but with it getting shut prematurely because of cracks in the roof at govan cross and the roof then falling in (i think) they were never issued.

I might be worng tho ::):

Got hold of circles under the clyde today, thanks ken for the heads up, some great photos in it.

Was wondering...is it ok to scan and upload some or are they copyrighted?

it broke my heart

Postby cataclyzm » Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:18 pm

hi,

what wonderful images.

It really broke my heart to see how much of Glasgow they took from us.

The diaspora from victoriana to concrete towers. We may not have had indoor toilets but we had one another. We had all that sandstone and a graceful sense of belonging.

Those things can never be rebuilt. I wonder how many people really know the scale of what they took from Glasgow. How much of her heart they laid bare.

There is a future and there has to be hope but it breaks my heart. The streets of the city run through my heart and soul. I'm sure i'm not the only person who remembers Bridgeton; Springburn; Finnieston; Townhead; Govan; Oatlands et al.

I just wish I had been old enough to stop the destruction. But I was only 10 when most of it happened.

They will never know what they took from us.

Robert Kelly.

If things are deleted, it's usually because they were off topic, posted in the wrong place, rambling, chit chat, or utter nonsense. You can stop rubbing your eyes now ;)
