What were these boxing robots called when if you landed a good punch, your opponents head flipped back?

That's the one! Cheers!
The amazing thing about kids toys back then was their capacity to cause fights. Things are a lot more civilised now.

Apologies ... accusations of meths-sniffing ... evil twin ... pressures of work ... spending less time with my family ... seasonal stress ... shock of seeing the stripping nuns at Noir ... balance of his mind temporarily unsettled ... pining for an absent friend ... under-indulgence in Chrsitmas spirit ... over-indulgence in egg-nog flavoured Xmas coffee ... sensitive to hurtful remarks about my childhood ... issues ... AND JUST PLAIN P*SSED OFF WITH YOUR BL**DY CHEEK, YOUNG CRUSTY-ME-LAD!!!!!!!!!!

But I have to end with a smiley, don't I? ::):

they where a nightmare when in goals used to sting like anything, cos i was pish at fitba, i was always the goalie, and the mouldmaster was dreaded if we where playing with one of them.

We had some sort of traction engine too - I remember my brother used to play with it in the garage for me when I was young, but I don't remember much about it cos I was pretty young at the time and he's 10 years older than me.

I have to say Lego, cars (particularly with my roads) and when I was younger, My Little Pony maybe!! I was a bit tomboyish I suppose in that I didn't like dolls at all, and much preferred playing with cars and trains (hence my interest in trains and tunnels I guess!). When I was wee I also used to write down all the Scottish football matches and predict the scores, then check at 5pm on a Saturday to see how I'd done! Betting with no risk age 8!

We also have a train set at home, model railway thing, but it's never used now. My brother built most of it, although my dad was involved too. We have a viaduct and tunnel amongst other things. When I grow up (!) - I mean, have my own house with space to spare - I think I might try and move it and have it for my own entertainment!

I have one in the loft that looks a lot like (a very battered and used version of ) this:

I think I had a stationary engine one of those too; think my dad picked them up in a jumble sale or something...

The best bit was the whistle!
