I'm sure you could download an "evaluation" copy of Paint Shop Pro 5, 6 or 7, and then visit http://www.cracks.am or something...

There's an red phone box in Milngavie town centre and also the one already mentioned at Bearsden Cross, both "K6" models. I have pics of them both I'm sure.

I don't suppose there's any of the old K2 ones left in Glasgow or even Scotland, are there?

That reminds me, I must dig out my copy of "Requiem for a Red Box", a rather nice coffee-table book full of pictures of red boxes in all sorts of locations.

It also has pictures of some of the WHITE telephone boxes which were common in (I think) Hull, as they were part of a different service to the Post Office. Identical apart from the colour and they don't have the wee crown at the top. I'll dig it out this weekend and post smoe scans.

Just back from a week 'Doon the water' saw loads of the old red boxes
in total Local Hero settings the best one I saw was being used as a wood shed at Lochgoilhead,There is one near Shawlands Station in a back garden used for a green house.
After seeing an old art house film about phone boxes that killed people I never used one again!!

There's one in Kirkintilloch, at the end of Alexandra St where it meets the High St. There's also one in someone's driveway on the other side of Kirky, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the street...

Following on from my last post... there's actually 2 together at the end of Alexandra Street, not one as I thought. I'll take a pic or two tomorrow, if anyone's interested.

Strange how that's just round the corner from me and yet I had absolutely no recollection of it..

There is indeed one just inside the main gate at Glasgow Uni - although it's not a BT-maintained one, there's a private payphone inside run by the uni.

Use http://www.gimp.org The Gimp instead. It's free, it's more powerful, and, um, it's free. And I use it. And Mrs Gordonjcp uses it all the time for arty things.

That's a K6. The K2 was older, slightly taller, the windows were all the same size (as opposed to one big central window with ta smaller one on each side) and the ventilation at the top, rather than being a small slit below the crown (go and look, you'll find it) was actually the crown itself. Rather than being raised like it is on the K6, the crown was comjprised of small ventilation holes. Rather ingenious.

There are hardly any left, and I'd be surprised if there's any in Scotland.

The horrible red one with one big window, as seen in Gregory's Girl (where Carol gets changed before going for chips with Gregory) is I think, a K8.

The K9 being smaller, usually not in red and more dog shaped.
