Ta. It used to do a roaring lunchtime food trade. Pie, bean and chips £1.50 (admitted a few years back).
I hear the people sing.

Just to revive an old topic guys.

Having lived in Glasgow for over 50 years I was invited into this unknown pub. Now as a taxi driver c  I thought I knew all the pubs and was delighted to have been accepted.

It was a Thursday night and after a works day out a colleague invited me to join him in some hospitality at this venue.

Upon entering I was met with a massive guy, (I am only 5 feet 8) and having shaken the guys hand I was given a warm and most cordial welcome to a pub almost by the riverside.

In fact he cuddled me almost like he was my Brother.

Well I guess we were, though I had met him for the first time. "brotherly love prevails"

Fear not this pub as I would certainly return here again.

Should you venture in here as a first timer like me then look around at the memorabilia. The guys and gals will help you in the interpretation.

Will I go there again> too right I will  P.......t

That's it! I was contemplating going past to remind myself what it was called, so you have now saved me the trauma of having to to that and reopen old psychological scars.

That has to be the dodgiest, most dangerous boozer within a 3 mile radius of the city centre.

The crucial line.

I assume your colleague is already well-known in the pub in question?

Jarvies (previously the Forum) on Kelso Street, Yoker suffered a fire early yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

Road was closed off for a while yesterday, police still in attendance this morning when I left for work.

Despite living in the area for most of my life, it's not a pub that I've ever ventured into.

Fire was discovered around 5am on Tuesday morning. I got up around that time and could smell burning and then saw the blue lights heading down Kelso Street at roughly about 0500-0510.

As I said I've never been in it, mainly due to the fact there always seemed to be a crowd hanging around outside anytime I passed it.

Only the Station Bar, The Lovat and The Corryvreckan (ex Dry Dock) left within the Yoker district.

There's also the Albion Club and the Yoker bowls

Or you're the adventurous typing wish to travel to exotic locations there's the Boundary Bar just over the Glasgow / Clydebank border crossing, or take a wee sail over to Renfrew on the aluminium tub (subject to tidal conditions) hehehe.

The fire at Jarvies is a real shame. Good place for us without Sky to watch the football. And I know they had quite a few functions set up over Christmas.

Yoker gets drier and drier...

Excellent location.
In retail park next door to ASDA.
2 well maintained trading areas.
Fully equipped kitchen.
Solid customer base of locals and shoppers.

It must be The Scotch in Summerston.

Pub owners lose fight to allow it to reopen after claims customers were using drugs
