Linlithgow Palace & Town Trail, Saturday 14th June 2014

Postby poodiecat » Wed Jun 04, 2014 5:10 pm

My friend Claire, who some of you have met on a previous walk, is so kind to take us on a wee wander through the enchanting town of Linlithgow including a visit to the Palace ( please note there is an entry fee of £ 5.50 ).
Thankfully there are two historic Camra pubs as well ( not including the Black Bitch Tavern 8O ).

Meet on Saturday, 14th June 2014, at 10:55 outside Queen Street Station opposite the underground exit to catch the train at 11:15.
Arrival at Linlithgow Train Station is at 11:44 should you wish to join us there.

Everybody is invited, as always.
It's just a ride.

I lived in Linlithgow for fifteen years, hope you have a great day out. Look for the Palace - see the damage done by Cromwell's troops; St.Michaels Church- lovely interior, modern Crown of Thorns steeple; several good pubs and restaurants; Oliphant's bakers; the canal walk; odd place names e.g the Dog Well Wynd.
Hope you get a warm welcome from the Black Bitches!

Durachdan,

Eddy
