Postby Deano » Wed Mar 12, 2014 1:39 pm

Hi there folks.....can anyone remember when the "dancing" Gee Gee's closed down, our group used to go there 1982/83 quite a lot (I think it's now Waxy Connels) & what was it's name changed to after Gee Gee's

Gigi's.

It's not so much that it's a name change : the original building occupied by Gigi's was demolished.

It was obviously too sophisticated to survive.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

Was it really ?

I can remember walking from pavement & up the stairs into Gee Gee's (the dancing), I'm convinced that's where Waxy's now is, although I stand to be corrected

Cheers

Waxy O'Connor's (or whatever) is where Gigi's was. It's just a new build.

So stand corrected. Sort of. :-)

Turns out that is correct, Daddy Warbucks was in fact after Gee Gee's (not sure which year the fire destroyed part of the building)
