Are you an up the hill-er or a down the hill-er?

From up the tap...

I drove past recently and my old High School is gone, completely demolished.

Hey, lived in Glasgow for all of my 25 years. Always interested in finding out more about the city. Looking forward to taking part in discussions here (although probably not often, :)).

Morning folks. :)

I am The Creeping Spleen. I live in Greenock (but don't hold that against me). I'm in Glasgow a couple of times a month seeing friends, going to the pictures, or whatever.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Hi everybody, I am Anne. I was born in Glasgow - in what was then Claythorn St, Calton. I believe Claythorn St. is still there, but with new buildings. When I was two my parents moved to Anniesland - out Great Western Road. I have lived in Australia since 1974, but I am still very interesting in how dear old Glasgow is going. :? :P

There's still some old buildings standing. Claythorn Street

I had relatives who lived in Claythorn Street until about 1977/8, number 10 or 101 or something I think They where quite close to the pend and at the other side of the street there was an old yard with a big gate that we as kids could sqeeze through.

Hey! My name is Chris and I'm a bit of an outsider (from out Motherwell way)

Never really spent much time in Glasgow at all till I started working at 17. 8 years on and I am still finding new wee bits and bobs about the City, though it has always fascinated me, even (especially!?) from a young age passing through on the motorway :) I also got quite into the urban development side of things in school
My key interests are the M8 itself, tunnels, multi storeys, other tall buildings, demolition and generally just stories and pictures of "back in the day"

I have popped in and read a few threads in the past, but thought I'd sign up this time, it really is a great forum and resource!

Cheers,

Chris

Motherwell? Ooft! I'm sure you'll be forgiven in due course :)

There's many of us who've been forgiven for a damn sight worse than that, so welcome.

Haha, Thank you Lucky Poet :D

Not even Motherwell, one of the outlying villages, so growing up was all fields and trees ::):

This is probably the main reason for my interest in citys, especially Glasgow as it is so interesting...Edinburgh not so much

Little bit of a lurker here :D
Moved to Glasgow almost 4 years ago from the North but originally from central region. Still discovering Glasgow, very happy that I moved to this city!
