Lucky you, you've got Mackintosh's Hill House in the locality. One experience to be recommended for history/architecture/culture buffs in Scotland is to visit the Hill House and Lorimers' Hill of Tarvit House in Fife as close to one another as possible; preferably within a weekend as I once did. You get an astonishing impression of the span of what was going on in Scotland in the adjacent years when these two houses were built by great architects for rich magnates with hugely contrasting results
