Edinburgh has already applied for funding to secure a 2nd tram line and hasnt finished the 1st one yet,get finger oot Glasgow,Glasgow has an advantage most cities would love,The Subway expansion is possible.Tram/trains.Using rail lines from west to east.Glasgows need is greater, and will reach more folk .Edinburghs tram line is only reaching8% of population,
Glasgow should push for a Public transport system it deserves
As nice as the Clyde fastlink Tram/bus is ok ,But there are already trains run that route from west to east,We could get tram onto these lines. And extend from the main lines.

What does the 'TW' with red cross out line sign mean at the end of the platforms/entrance to the tunnels? It's only up sometimes and I've always wondered what it stood for?
Thanks in advance.

Read this thread and noticed nobody's yet come up with an answer. I noticed these the other day too, only seem to be put up sometimes. I'm curious to know what it means too. Anyone got any ideas?

It's to inform drivers that the emergency telephone line in the tunnel ahead isn't working.

Ahh, thank you!!!

It was only about 15-20 seconds of the song, interlaced with scenes of passengers commenting on the subway.
Who knows, perhaps if it had been left it would have encouraged people to buy the full length song and even seek out more of Hanley's work to buy :?

i may be wrong in this but didnt cliff hanley write a book about the glasgow subway? as am sure it was either him or jack house who said that when they were a small boy they thought the subway trains were carried up the stairs and put on a lorry to be taken for repair.
im recalling this from possibly the late sixties or early seventies so memory of it is lost in the mists of time

Now that I have managed to post some piccies successfully (Clyde Tunnel opening programme 1963) here is a selection from some 200 photos taken when I was a teenager in the early 70s. Apologies for quality - I used an old Zenit SLR with Agfa 400ASA slide film and knew nothing about photography.

\There were plenty of people with cameras but you took and kept the photos. Excellent shots.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

This time some piccies of tickets around decimalisation time in the early 70s. God, I must have been a really sad bastard then. probably that's why I emigrated to England to get a life

Great stuff :)

Would you have a pic of the exterior of Kinning Park station before demolition ? I've never found one.
