Annual HG M74 Build Walk 2nd of January

Postby Fossil » Mon Nov 30, 2009 12:49 pm

Loads to see this year. it might sound boring but, if you were alive when they were building the M8. what pictures you could have taken.
Its a bit of Glasgow history you can get shots of and post on HG in 20 years time :)

All welcome
below is the route and the links.

HG Annual 2nd of January Walk M74 road link

Kick off time 10.45 for an 11am start.
If you can’t make it for the start time you can always pick us up [or is that off] on the route we will be taking.
Don’t worry you will know it’s a HG tour.

Meeting at DFS on London road
Making our way down Fullerton road and pass the M74 road works
Heading a long Boggleshole Road

Turning on to Cambuslang Road and taking the fork in the junction towards Farme Cross for another M74 part of the works.
Stop off for a drink and a rest then.. Turning right and heading up Faremloan Road [more M74 works.]

Our first of a few stop off’s for liquid refreshment and lunch at
The Picture House bar on the corner of Rutherglen main st / Glasgow road [if it’s open on time]

We then move towards the City centre following Glasgow Road past Outlands [very different from last years picture opportunity] and then joining Caledonia road
Turning right into Cathcart Road. [more M74 works].
We then head to The Star Bar [Victoria Road and Eglington St] for more refreshments and a piss.

We then head off again towards West St Underground station and our final leg of the tour. Carnoustie St east and west link bridges.

We then retreat to the subway and end up in a bar in town to look at photies, eat and drink some more.
Roll on 2010

I'd forgotten that :D . Same stuff, except the Poodiecat homemade brand is substantially stronger (and nicer). And managed to get us banned from the Glaswegian Bar last year.

Ditto :)
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.
