they provide transport back to Glasgow Green at 13 pounds a person.

Might come and see you all arrive at the finish line :)

If we get a team of four people, only the first three have to pay (or we share the saving). Go Team HG!

Sounds rather interesting, that :)

(Don't know if it'd be feasible for me, though - there's more transport from Edinburgh to the start, but adding another 30 miles to get to Edinburgh and then back home might be a wee bit optimistic just now... I'll come & cheer at least, of course.)

Just keep tellin' yourself that Edinburgh is downhill from Glasgow (at least psychologically) and you'l be fine.

is this where I apologise to Shardonnay?

Well the whole point of going west to east is that you have the prevailing wind at your back. It just feels like downhill!

Peering at the route map, you lucky things'll get to visit Caldercruix! (Though I only know the roads east of Airdire, it looks like a good route actually.)

I'd like to give it a go. Used to do the round trip from Motherwell to South Queensferry and back very often. If I could do it 25 years ago I'm sure I could do it in half the time today. Just a scoosh of WD40, a good run over with the spanner, a quick rub down and then I'll see to the bike. Put my name down for team HG!
