This type of thing is still popular with birders and some wildlife photographers, so I hear: does away with the need for a tripod to some extent. I suppose if you're out on the moors you just might get away with it, but I'm not sure how it'd go down in George Square or Central Station or Glasgow Airport. I remember these being the very epitome of photographic desirability back in the 70s though - at least in the lowly circles in which I moved. 'Bronica Twin Lens Reflex, on the house sir? No thanks my good man - just give me a gross of your finest Zenit ES Photosnipers if you please and make it snappy." If it was good enough for Jason King it was good enough for us.
