Crookston Castle Secondary School

Postby Lynn_x » Mon Jul 06, 2009 4:58 pm

( I hope this is under the right topic??? )

Just wondering if anyone here went to Crookston Castle Secondary?

Or anybody who has any photos?

This was my high school & i was saddened to see it was being closed :(
Although this didnt happen until after i left, i was glad i managed to see out my final year.
I left in 2000 - but not 100% sure of when it was officially closed??? :?:

But i guess up against other schools it was'nt very modern,
and they shut both Crookston & Penilee to merge a new school at Ross hall

Hi Lynn, you have been busy ::): I went to Crookston in the 70`s and hated everything about the place, the teachers, the methods and just the whole place in general. It was a full scale riot at times what with all the different gangs of that time and it wasn`t a pleasant place to go to school in. Mibees it`s just me, but my memory of it is chaos x 100.
The pics look like a day at science in my year there ::): My only regret is i didn`t get to demolish the place.

Awww Scary, im sad to hear you didnt take to the place as well as i did ::):

But i actually enjoyed the chaos :P No scrap that, im kidding

Yeah in that neck of the woods, there is 3 rival gangs & a lot of the carry on took placein the school,
or just outside it....

I'd liked to say it had calmed down over the years but i'd be lying to you

Being born & bred in Pollok you just get on with it, i wasnt one for trouble and kept my head
down, as you do & really enjoyed a lot of the classes & believe it or not a few of the teachers!

Probably all changed since you were there my dear, but the building hadnt eh?
It probably had the same decor in 1999 as it had back in the 70's ::): ::):

Still if im asked to this day did i enjoy my school years i say yes :D

Thanks for your reply

I went here in the 90s. Thought it was amazing. From memory 99% of the teachers I came across were really good.

Went there in the sixties, quite enjoyed it. My sister was one of the first pupils when it opened.
