How did we miss this?

Fire crews put out blaze at BBC's former HQ

The top floor of the four-storey building in Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow, which was once the home of Victorian entrepreneur John Bell, caught fire yesterday afternoon.

Top floor? That's handy. If the roof is fucked then the water ingression will hasten the buildings demise.

A couple of mine, post closure:

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know what's happening with the old BBC site? I'm considering a short-term let of a flat on Hamilton Drive but don't really want to be there when all the construction work is kicking off. Any idea when it's due to start?

Cheers
