Date ideas

Postby Timchilli » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:23 pm

I may have asked this before, but times change...

I'm struggling to think of any decent ideas for "dates" in Glasgow... I've done the comedy club, drinks/clubbing, restaurants, day trips, etc. to death, and am wondering if anyone's prepared to share their little gems you use to woo/spend time with your partners.

Any ideas would be most welcome!

There must be some way of combining fresh air, the chance to socialise and interact with new people, a bit of cardiovascular excercise and the guarantee of a good night's sleep afterwards.

I've been a bit of an absentee forumite for the last few years, I've not caught up with everybody's kinks yet.

You were thinking about skiing? Is that a new technique to delay the inevitable? :o

I like a good date at the Necropolis, its interesting, cheap! outdoors, a wee bit dangerous at certain times of the day/night. It also makes you glad to be loved up whilst you ponder this mortal coil et al. It ticks all my boxes.

Had you considered getting out of Glasgow?

The Lake of Menteith is a beautiful spot along with the rest of the Trossachs.
If you want show her Scotland but fairly quickly then why not train it from Kilmarnock round the old coastal route, take some cider with you, it might be illegal but you can pour it into Lucozade bottles ;)

Seems you've done Glasgow, get out and experience civilisation

+1 for Lake of Menteith. Beautiful place and you could also visit go ape at Aberfoyle at the same time.

If you don't mind the trek and the enforced sobriety I can recommend the Beech Tree at Dumgoyne. It has served me well over many, many years and many, many squeezes.
