Can you get inside the building? I'd love to have a peek around in there.

What would you prefer it to be converted in to?

I think the stone pillars, gates and railings around the boundary area are all listed Moto, at least thats what i was told when i worked there for a while.

I havent been over to QMD for a while myself, need to take a trip up somtime to see what the progress is. :)

I understand that there is a Charles Rennie MacIntosh feature in the main building which would mean that it is listed.

The top right image shows the gates as being removed from the new development, so maybe the boundary is not listed. :?

That's a lot of flats - I hadn't realised the grounds were quite so extensive.

My Gran used to live at 63 Hamilton Drive right opposite the Beeb. It is a great site for a development and, the main building apart, what was there is not very nice. I would like to see the main building as a quality boutique hotel. I think it would enhance the area, bring visitors into the Wesrt End and be generally good for the local economy.

At the centre of the origional pic you can see the MacIntosh building. It used to form a wee court yard behind the old reception which has now been demolished.

A few months ago I had the opportunity for a wander around the BBC buildings - this was after the auction (so all the good stuff had gone!), but before the bulldozers. Nevertheless, we collected some useful bits and pieces for the radio station.

It was quite a sad occasion...
