Heres a few photos I took whilst down in Lincolnshire a couple of years ago.

It is the Douglas C47 (DC3) Dakota ZA947 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight of which more details can be found here http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/theaircraft/dakota.cfm

Haven't bought this since I was in my teens:

It's got a feature in it about a 1:32 scale Lightning:

TSR2 and how it might have looked in service:

But best of all, the Sea Vixen:

*drool*

...which is very useful, because I've got one of these waiting to be built:

Various things at Leuchars in the late 60s...

A flock of Lightnings, I believe:

More Lightnings:

Not sure. A Starfighter? If so, a Starfighter caught in a rare moment of not crashing:
Image

Vulcan with some auld bloke in a bunnet:
Image

Another Vulcan (at least I think it is):
Image

Phantom, w/ Lightning lurking behind:
Image

Umm... not sure. Mirage, maybe?:
Image

Buccaneer?:

Haven't got the foggiest:

(Taken by my auld man. I need to invest in a slide scanner, as he left hundreds of the things. These were 'scanned' by hand with a macro lens, so apologies for the not perfect quality.)

Yes, and a Hercules on the ground below.

Terrific shot. That'd make my hair stand on end standing at the end of the runway with those tearing towards me.

Lockheed F-104 Starfighter of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Dutch Air Force)

Indeed.

McDonnel Douglas RF-4E Phantom II, the photo-reconnaissance version. I spy a Hunter in the background.

Dassault Mirage III of the Armée de l'Air (French air force).

Yes, in Royal Navy colours. Note Handley Page Hastings in the background.

I'd love to see the rest. It's an impressive archive.

That Northrop had me going for a while and I'm still not 100% certain about it, although it appears to be an example delivered to the USAF in 1965 in subsequently transferred to the Norwegian air force.

To confuse the issue, one source lists these F-5As as F-5G, others as F-5A(G). The F-5G was the original designation for the Tigershark, a single-engined derivative that was redesignated F-20 in the early EIghties.

This in turn was derived from the F-5E Tiger II which had been introduced in 1972 to replace the F-5A and supply export markets.

In all, they made about 2,000 of them and supplied every bugger and his dog. Further developments include the YF-17 Cobra which lost out to the YF-16 as a replacement for the F-104 Starfighter, but was developed as the F-18 Hornet by McDonnel Douglas.

I'll see how the pennies look next month - holding 35mm slides up to the window in front of the camera's a bit hit and miss...

And cheers Brigit, your plane-fu is strong :)
