I set out to go to the launch of HMS Defender yesterday, but jumped on the number 40 bus instead of 62 and ended up doing a grand tour of Drumchapel
I had set out rather late and I'd forgotten my lunchtime painkillers. I could have sworn it said "Dumbarton Road" on the number 40's route at the bus shelter in Stockwell Place. Ah well. Shit happens.

HMS Defender, about an hour after launch.
I did stop on the way back from the grand tour of Drumchapel. Not much I'm afraid. I've still to see what's on the camcorder.

.
Heard that the Inchinnan Bascule Bridge, near the Normandy Hotel
in Renfrew is expected to open Saturday morning [5-12-09] to allow
a boat ? a barge ? a floating thing ? through.
Maybe safer to keep an eye on traffic reports who'll advise the
exact times / restrictions.

The old Queen Mary 2, docked on the Thames last August. A long way from the Clyde but longer in time, when as a teenager, I explored all decks on trips 'doon the watter' to Dunoon and Rothesay.
