Glenlee at Greenock/ I spent some time refurbishing her when she came to the clyde. What a mess inside . Wish I had taken pics. Never saw finished job but looks like a good restoration. Pass it many times but always thought they would get more visitors if admission charges were cheaper.

Ach, I came to post my pic of it, taken a week ago! Dammit! It's converted into a wee cruiser type thing, was originally a fishing boat in Ireland I think, built in the 70s (1979 maybe?). I found all this on the internet anyway. Here's my one.

In my other thread with all my other pics in it, I have another picture of the boat.

Excellent pics. Peter. Never been on the Glenlee or seen pics. of the interior. The local tub here is of course the Discovery, which would be nice for a cruise up and down the west coast but has huge square beams running inside it as bracing for the pressure of ice.

glenlee

I was sent to work on her but have to say I only lasted a few weeks. We were working outside in mid winter , in darkness, dirt etcetc. What really pissed me off was the attitude of two guys who seemed to think it was thier own pet project. They were unhelpful to those trying to work with no tools/ gear/ equipment etc. I always worked these jobs as a team and just thought the crap wasn't worth the effoert. Still in the end they have done a great job. We walk by lots of times and this was the first since she came to the Clyde that we decided to go have a look.

I was at a dinner on the Glenlee some months ago and I was amazed at how much space there is down below. The width of the tween deck is quite awesome. You don't realise this when you're outside looking at the ship sitting in the water.

This yacht found herself grounded on a sand bank in Loch Fyne, just outside Inverary.
