Australian Pink Floyd.

Without a shadow, as good as the real deal, in fact these days, they are the real deal. Very impressed.

Nice depth of field. I think the fact that the reflection in the roof is right behind his head really separates him from the background too.

Buddy Guy at Carling Academy 26th June 2008

Buddy Guy at the age of 72
This guy is a living legend.

George "Buddy" Guy (born July 30, 1936 in Lettsworth, Louisiana,) is a five-time Grammy Award-winning American blues and rock guitarist and singer. Known as an inspiration to Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and other 1960s blues and rock legends, Guy is considered an important exponent of Chicago blues.

Eric Clapton said "Buddy Guy was to me what Elvis was for others." and "Buddy Guy is by far and without a doubt the best guitar player alive"

Jimi Hendrix once said that “Heaven is lying at Buddy Guy’s feet while listening to him play guitar.”

Stevie Ray Vaughan once declared that Buddy Guy "plays from a place that I've never heard anyone play."

Jimmy Page said “Buddy Guy is an absolute monster”

Bill Wyman said “Guitar Legends do not come any better than Buddy Guy."

What more needs to be said?
It was a fantastic gig!

NIce shots of Australian Pink Floyd. I heard that Dave Gilmour once booked them for a party.

[quote="Alex Glass"]Anybody know anything about this band. Not sure if they have been mentioned previously on HG.

Image

The legend of Glasgow lives on and theres still quite a lot of activity surrounding the (legend of) the band and their Zero Four One album is now available on CD from a couple of European companies specialising in classic rock.

Mick Boyle is a lorry driver now, Archie Dickson is a music teacher, Paul McManus plays with covers band, No Dice and Neil Russell moved to Holland.

Quite a few people would love to see Glasgow reform but due to a fall out between Mick and Archie this is unlikely.

There's currently a discussion on Glasgow (the band) at the RockScotland forum here:-

http://rockscotland.freeforums.org/glasgow-t32.html

There's also some archive shots of the band on the MusicPro website taken in Park Lane, Hamilton back in 1983 here:-

http://www.musicpro.co.uk/sites/archive ... efault.htm

The band also have a MySpace page here:-

http://www.myspace.com/glasgow041

They were one of the better bands of the time but unfortunately always seemed to get in tow with dodgy managers who knew nothing about the music business!

(well one of them, anyway).

The guy on the right of the pic is Ali McKenzie who drummeed for the Subs. (Gimme Your Heart/Patry Girls on Stiff One-Off, 1978). He then founded Cuba Libre records which was licenced to Virgin. Cuban Heels' Walk on the Water was (I think) on Cuba Libre. I didn't know Ali drummed for Cuban Heels. Ca anyone confirm?
