Not so well maintained the Zephyr I spotted in Kirkliston. Needs some tender loving care but to me the car looked sound. No external door handles on the doors, curious.

This is more what a MkIII Zephyr 4 should look like, also photographed at Rouken Glen, but a year earlier in 1990:-ImageFord Zephyr 4, MkIII by neilmc_photos, on Flickr

Here's its flashy big sister; a Zodiac MkIII, seen at the same event: not sure about those alloys...

Volunteer here, Very nice examples neilmc. The alloys don't do much for me but it's a free choice.

Spotted in Castleton, West York’s a nice VW Caravanette. It is wearing Alloys too where steel wheels and hub caps went before. Also the near side front wheel has an auxiliary hand brake, there is something wedged there to stop it rolling down hill. Castleton is not too far from Heartbeat Country and worth a drive through very enjoyable.

Technically not a camper, its a micro bus. A 23 window Samba bus to be exact and the most saught after of the VW split screen van models

On the wheels, the Zodiac's are pressed steel, possibly Cragars or American racing eagle's and the VW's are EMPI 5 spoke copies in alloy.

Volunteer here, thank you BTJustice. What you don't see in the rear compartment is the model car of the same vehicle. Seems to be a trend among some Classic car Owners.

Today's pics are the Google Map Car trawling round East Kilbride one day. I don't own a Satnav, not for me. Managed quite well for forty odd years on the road without one. However I do appreciate all these facilities when I use Google map and Route Planners.

The nearest I ever saw to a New York-style cab in Glasgow was the distinctive yellow & blue Peugeot 605s operated by Eastwood Taxis in the 1990s.

Something completely different, yet again from Rouken Glen, is this Jowett Jupiter, in company with a Morris or two; a Traveller and an MGA:-

Volunteer here, the Jowett Jupiter is stunning neilmc. Very few of these cars made by Jowett.

Where I grew up a neighbour drove a Jowett Javelin. It stood out from the crowd with the design lines and style. Makes me smile to think of the place name for the Jowett Factory was Idle near Bradford, curious I think.

Spotted at at the McDonalds in Bielziehill a Bentley.

I went along for a look at the Monte Carlo start in Paisley last night but only for an hour while it was daylight due to the cold. All my pics are here https://www.flickr.com/photos/route9autos/ and here are some of the highlights;

Spotted at Amazonia, M&D's.

Fibre glass ice cream van variant of the mini based Hustler kit car. Looks like it has been adapted for coffee rather than ice cream.

Volunteer here, well spotted arthuy. A Six Wheeled Hustler Kit Car dressed up as an Ice Cream Van. Having built a wooden body four wheel Hustler and driven it for two years your post has caused a rush of memories.

BTJustice well spotted the SHA 110M plate. Peace and prosperity.

Today's post is a Dog Walking Service vehicle.

If it was mine I would have the silhouette of the dog central to the door handle. It resembles a bone.

Volunteer here, At Cappercleuch on the A708 from Traquair to Selkirk you'll find this Grade “B” Listed Building. Worth a read on the internet.

Couldn't resist a photo shoot.

The rear shot shows in the background the War Memorial to World War One Dead.

Volunteer: hope you don't mind me giving your first photo the 'Instamatic' treatment; this great shot could have been taken 40-odd years ago, as I can't see any sign of modern intrusion (no doubt someone will correct me):-

Image

Here's one that really was taken with an Instamatic (well, a Halina) over 40 years ago, from my bedroom window; the cars and van should be easily identifiable:-
