It's my first attempt at this so please, be gentle.

Image

I don't know anything about photoshop so I raised the colour sats using PaintShopPro and blurred the foreground and the background manually using the 'smudge' brush.

I took the photo in Partick, during the recent redevelopment of the Riverside Mebtal Health Resource Centre in Sandy Road .. I was sent there for stress counselling by the 'Man With The Wig' after one or two 'near the knuckle' encounters on the doors.
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

Doorstop & Yoker Brian, those are great! I'm gonna have to try that.
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

Thanks guys.

Hazy, it's easy if you get a chance to use a tilt-shift lens but it's also quite simple to replicate in Photoshop/GIMP etc.

I'll hunt down a good tutorial.

I was gonna create my own tutorial there but found this one. http://recedinghairline.co.uk/tutorials/fakemodel/

The only problem being that after STEP 2 you must open the SELECT menu and choose INVERSE otherwise you'll end up with a wee blurry section across your image.

It's not an amazing tutorial, granted, but did you try the first post in this thread?
