Hermann tortoises dont need to hibernate if they are kept indoors and healthy. They can be hibernated once they get a bit older but they do not need it.
I didnt just get presented with a tortoise out of the blue, I had been planning on getting one of the hatchlings from August but my better half surprised me with a 14 month old and the breeder is a close friend so we know exactly where it came from.
Unlike a lot of folk I check the facts before i jump in.
