Nice one, I love macro, but sold my lens a few weeks ago because I didn't use it enough. However you have put me in the mood for some nice pattern shots now :)

Cheers minxy, I use a TZ7 compact camera with magnifiers attatched to the front with a threaded ring that came from Canada and I found on the internet.

Here are a couple of my tortoise that I got for Christmas;

Just goes to show you don't need to pay a fortune for a dedicated macro lens Dave, you've got nice sharp focus on the eye and narrow DOF there. Cracking wee pet, did you give him/her a name? :D

Not got a name for the tortie yet but warming to Mr.T. Wont know what sex it is until its 4 y/o so might be a mistake to use Mr.

The "Priscillia ring" to add the thread to the front of my camera was less than $16 and the magnifiers were less than a tenner so a nice cheap addition to my camera case.

Nice idea! Beats the Blue Peter tortoise going from Fred to Freda, unless you have gloss painted the name onto the creature?

Should that tortoise not be kipping in a large box surrounded by straw?

It's illegal to trade in tortoise without a license but not illegal to own or buy one.

You should have a buyers certificate (in duplicate) with the original copy being sent to DEFRA. If the tortoise is passed to a new owner, the new owners name must be added to the certificate and that copy sent to DEFRA in order for a new copy to be sent to the new owner.
