I love these photos. Do you know anything about the Canal Customs House? Are you able to go inside or is it privately owned now or still used by the Forth and Clyde Canal somehow? And any idea of how old that building is?
My gg grandfather died in 1874 and the address given is "Canal Property" Bowling, and had lived in canal properties during his lifetime. I have always wondered if he actually had lived in the Customs house, or in some other accomodation for canal lock keepers.
