The last two words are superfluous: it is taken for granted that there can be no other reason for being in George Square at 2am.

The lion looks rather disapproving, perhaps for this reason.

I know it's a bit of a cheeky request, I'll buy whoever does it a drink in the summer.

I will do next time I am passing if the rain ever stops.

i was going down that way today so took these pics . very helpfuly the buildings had no numbers that i could see on them, but it is a very short street with what looks like an old school building on one side and the remains of an old tenement block on the other side. all that remains of the tenement block is this old shop that had lights on inside ,so it must still be open, on either side of it it is just overgrown waste ground .

i just had a look at an aerial view on google earth, and you are right , they built the big car auction place right on top of sydney street cutting it in half ! the other side of sydney street look,s to be completly flat empty land .

thank,s for the info sharon, i went back today and got this shot of sydney street from the other side of the car auction site . whatever buildings that used to be there are now long gone, it,s just overgrown grass on either side of the street ,all along both sides . interestingly according to my glasgow A-Z , it only shows the short section of sydney street at the duke street end , the other end is not shown at all .

He has probably been in town since Friday evening and is still trying to make his way home.
