Thought the wrecks were listed  If you've seen that
section of the Clyde on a very low tide, there is a hell of a
lot of junk down there 8O

New Taggart on the next two Wednesdays!

But you are right - it sounds exactly like a perfect Taggart story!

I wonder if they will find any bodies in the silt deposits? 8O

Well I like the wrecks as far as in artistic reasons. There
is still enough clearance from the basin for existing
yachts. A friend of mine lives on his yacht there during
the week and is still highly opposed to the redevelopment
of the area.

If it's redevelopment for the local community that
is a good thing, but as it goes some folks want to
drop some Barratt starter homes in the area :x

The locals have lived with the decaying wrecks for
years and all of a sudden there is a quest for new
incomming development. Do I hear commuters?

Wouldn't there an argument for leaving it as a marine biology environment ? There must be a lot of life on them.

Very true indeed glasgowken. The article from the section
of Scottish Enterprise let's the cat out the bag.

Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire is currently working with a range of partners to create a masterplan for the waterfront of the picturesque village. This could involve building an international resort casino or similar leisure development on a 100 acre brownfield site formerly used by Esso as an Oil Terminal, at the western edge of the village.

I like the bit about "create a masterplan for the waterfront of the picturesque village" and "could involve building an international resort casino or similar leisure development". Mmmmhh picturesque meets concrete, lovely....

don't bother

Postby peter » Fri Mar 24, 2006 1:58 pm

Went down to bowling today for look but there is no access to harbour. The main basin is locked up and part of it is a construction site . So it is impossible to get a good view of what's going on in harboure.

Peter, if you choose to accept the mission, we could
arrange to have you parachuted in behind the lines
