DC, where exactly is that Church Steeple / Tower? I have viewed it a couple of times from the Hawkhead area but never from any other location, for something so tall, it is well hidden!

That's the old HawkHead Asylum (Leverndale Hospital) water tower.

Aye thats leverndale. If you look at the fourth one back from the end you can see the top of Rosshall and the tower to the far right of that belongs to the semi demolished garden nursery building.
I should have waited to the winter so there would be less trees blocking the view.

Took a wee jaunt down there today with the aid of AA Autoroute ( ) It is at least a 10 minute drive from my house! Anyway, the Tower itself is an outstanding structure close up, it is reassuringly solid and just exudes dignity.
What the Developer has achieved in converting the surrounding buildings into flats has to be applauded, what a nice place to set up home, with that Tower as the centerpiece. I will go back and have another look when it is not chucking it down and will maybe then be able to get out of the car.
