Why do some drivers Switch their lights on when going through the Clyde Tunnel in daylight?

I wasn't sure if it actually was an old car or not. Is it?

It always used to be the way that you couldn't put a number plate on a vehicle from a year more recent than the vehicle's year of manufacture. The number plate is September 2006, so it's not old. Looks very much like a Morgan to me.

You still can't. It's a Morgan plus4, first registered in 2006, as per the plate. I've always liked Morgans myself, though the plus8 would be my chariot of choice.

Why do some drivers Switch their lights on when going through the Clyde Tunnel in daylight?

Presumably, some will feel it's a tad dark underground, despite what's going on outside!! Doubtless,some cars will have automatic lighting systems in them, much as my other halfs' car does.
