Kilmartin and Dunadd are well worth a visit if you're anywhere near mid-Argyll.
I hear the people sing.

Volunteer here, if you drive east of Biggar you may find the Scarecrow in the photograph. On one hand is the name Biggar and the other the word Better. I could find Biggar I just couldn't find Better.

Volunteer here, one day in Nottingham I went to cross the road. Before me were some giant bottles of beer. It would turn anyone to drink, wouldn't it?

Volunteer here, seasonal workers are always having to find alternative employment between contracts. Santa is no different. Spotted in Berwick one November he can be seen loading the Dust Cart with Wheelie Bins or as they say in the Far East “Buckets”.

Volunteer here, located on the B824 between the Keir Roundabout where the M9 meets the A9 turn left for Doune. Along that road is the statue of David Stirling DSO OBE. It is located close to the road at the Hill of Row within the Keir Park Estate. Founder of the Special Air Service during World War II a true hero. The bronze statue is stunning and depicts David Stirling a military issue duffel coat, uniform and cap.

Volunteer here, banjo thanks for your comment. I follow the Association of Speakers Clubs guide lines. There are three subjects that are not discussed. These are sex, religion and politics. However on the subject of miners. Picture is of the Bothwellhaugh Memorial in Strathclyde Park. Opposite M & D's behind the bushes. It is a stone cairn with two plaques. One commemorates the existence and subsequent demolition and flooding of the village when Strathclyde Park was constructed. The local council and others involved went to pains to retain the Roman Bath Foundations but nothing was kept of the Miners Rows owned by the Duke of Hamilton as far as I am aware. The BBC Scotland made a documentary of the village and the people who stayed there. My voluntary work allows me to mix with the elderly in Lanarkshire and some ladies and gents have some stories to tell as they either lived in Bothwellhaugh or knew people who resided there.
