i learned russian at school, and part of it was to learn about the country, id love to visit there.

the place looks like something from a horror movie.

what did it feel like DB?

Ummmm, quite hard to explain really. I guess it was the same for me as it is for "normal" people who go and see things like the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty, etc - It's kind of gratifying and a little strange to actually be there after seeing it in photos so many times.
As for Pripyat... well, that didn't really sink in 'till a few days later. I had fun and, as awful as it may sound, i didn't dwell on the tradegy of it all - I saved that for the Chernobyl museum in Kyiv.

How did you end up there for a holiday? Is it quite easy to organise or are you especially intrepid? I don't think I've seen the brochure in Going Places :D It looks amazing and the sort of holiday that'd stay with you for a long time. Brilliant photos.
