That truck's an early 1950s AEC Mammoth Major Mk.III, and probably started life with a tanker body, as an MoD airfield bowser/re-fueller.

This is a later AEC, a 1963 Mandator Mk.V tractor unit. I photographed her at Rouken Glen in 1991, and she's since been re-liveried in W. H. Malcolm colours:-

EDIT: Bollocks, why is it whenever I copy and paste the click-through image link to a specific Flickr image, it never works, and I just have to use an img command??

EXTRA EDIT: A-ha, found a Grease Monkey script that generates BB code - bit shit of Flickr not to do that itself though...
