Set yersel up an account on photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) and upload yer images onto there. It even tells you the img tags to post, it's all free and is more than happy with remote linking of files.

Cheers Allan,

I might try that out. I currently use fotopic who allow remote linking, but this site doesn't seem to like how the files don't end in .jpg!

Ah... I understand what you mean now. I believe phpBB forums (the script for this one) won't accept "images" with a file type besides .gif, .png, or .jpg.

A few reasons for this I suppose... file size if you were allowed to post .bmps or .tiff's you could get some pretty big uncompressed images that would take a long time to download. It's also there to stop people posting images that are returned from scripts, php or asp etc... as there is a possibility of ip-tracking/logging with that kind of thing. (Though there are other ways of achieving that.)

Why do the fotopic pictures have no extension?

This is a very good question, I'll drop them an e-mail and see what they say.

http://www.fotopic.net/help/directlinking.php for their policy.

I guess I can't use standard HTML here?

Fuji Finepix S5000. Took these with my tripod that I bought off eBay - could never have taken shots like this before 'coz my hand isn't steady enough!

Canon A70.

I really like it's features. It has a mode specifically for making Panoramas!!

What I like even better is it is slightly more heavy and a lot more solid than I am used to. Already I have dropped it from around four foot onto concrete - one small scratch on the magnesium housing later and it's totally fine - ready to go.

Now as good a camera as my previous Nikons have been, given that kind of abuse they would have flown into a huge camera jigsaw with over 100 parts!

:D

Update (11/08/04): I've re-uploaded the pic. Quality is now considerably better.

The tops of one of the bollards alongside the Clyde that would have a ship tied up to it... long time ago!
