exposure far too long, and camera not stable, the trails are from lights or lens flare

It's been a cracking moon the past couple of nights. Hunter's Moon, isn't it?

This was done in-camera rather than with Photoshopping:

Out in the garden, playing with the flashgun:

This one's had the saturation tweaked a little:

Indeed. The hunter's moon is the full moon following the harvest moon which in turn is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox.

Excellent photos, everybody! I love the saturation-tweaked one, PJ.

The 400D's been replaced by the 450D, Davie, and seems to have vanished from the shops. The new one's about 450 quid with the kit lens, though I bet it'll come down soon.

Good 400D deal here. HERE

and some 450D prices HERE

So you could be around £500-£700 down before you kick a baw. Shop around though.

Remember there's loads more DSLR camera manufacturers out there. Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus, Fuji. You might find a better deal that'll suit your needs.

Belter of a moon tonight. Just got in there before the clouds covered it up.
