How do you professional photographers think of the idea of taking a panorama on board a moving ship? I'm not sure if it'll work since the background will be constantly moving as I pan round?

Depends what you are capturing.
if what you are after is the ship, well no probem itll all be static relative to the camera.
If you are after the surrounding vista that could be more problematic as clearly the ship will move in the water so the pont and angle of rotation will change. However, if the horizon is far off this probally wont b an aissue.

It was the ship I was going to capture, but I think making the horizons stitch could be a pain. Sod it, checked the forecast and it's going to be pouring down anyway.

nice one Allan. What's the blue structure on the far-right, some kind of crane at the Renfrew Ferry? Don't remember seeing that before.

thats a beauty! did u use a tripod or just the magic railings? nearly lost my camera to the muddy(or otherwise) waters once due to a lack of caution on my part leaning on them.. still too scared to try and get any pictures of that part of town.. shame cos it looks amazing at night now they put all those pretty lights in. definetely something im going to have a look at ..

No tripod.. All done by hand. It just required high resolution images and some wonderous photostitching software. It sometimes works.
