There are a few wee parts, rather like the fiddly bits you get with Tamiya kits.

Fortunately Hettie Hoover is in her box at the moment so I have a reasonable chance of not losing them. I'll post some photos later.

When I were a lad we still had clockwork locos. I had a little blue 00 bugger, made by Joueff. It's spring regulator had gone which caused it to unwind explosively. When it wasn't decapitating fingers it was leaping three feet off the rails. One day I oiled it with 3-in-1 and the casing melted.

Grampfer Doon (retired signalman) would have been 100 yesterday so I thought I'd go to the show at Irvine:

Depth of field problems - I've had to delete rather a lot that didn't make it. Timing needs to be spot-on.

I remember going to a show in Bath when I was about 7 or 8 with Grampy and a few other kids. We all had our eyes out on stalks. Then this plate-layer's trolley came whizzing by and we all fell about the place.

Someone produced one yesterday and I caught a shot of it whizzing past a signal box. How appropriate. Made my day:

I did ask about, aland, just to say "hi", but no-one had heard of you or HG. HG badges next time...
