Pic request : AA gun Cairnmuir road

Postby deakin » Tue Nov 10, 2009 10:20 pm

Hey folks

I'm looking for pics of the now filled in gun emplacment that was on Cairnmuir road just south of the rollsroyce factory.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=55.7869 ... 24161&z=16

I've searched about but can't find any pics for that site. i have also heard that their used to be some kind of labour camp there too but again can't find out if this is true or not. So if you have any pics or details about that site could you please post it here or email me at brafur(at)gmail.com

Thanks for any info you could share.

{ edit : sorry just noticed i've posted this in the wrong section, could a mod move it to projects please? }

Is this the one you mean?

Take my dog up there every now and again, there really isn't much to see - seems to have been obliterated when building the transmitter currently on the site. The link above suggests that photos of it do exist, but you'll probably have to visit the RCAHMS in Edinburgh to see them - or pay to have copies sent to you.
