Hobos! They were small chews but way better than Black-jacks and fruit salads. Then there were Mojos.

What about the Black-eye bubblegum that had a wee tatoo inside them usually in the form of the yellow smiley face or Bazooka Joes bubblegum with the joke inside.

Apple struddels that came in a foil packet in the shape of an apple.

long thin packets of Chuckles hard boiled sweets.

Candy necklaces that were better than catapults especially when the sweets broke off from the elastic.

Frys 5 centre chocolate.

Then we had Tudor Kipper crisps.

Remember buying them from the ice cream van with a bottle of American Cream Soda while kicking a ball about. Ahh happy days. Doubt you get them anymore.

Fry's Five Centres
Five assorted fruit flavoured cremes.

If you’ve tried Fry’s Chocolate Creme, imagine a bar like that but with five different flavoured fillings: raspberry, lime, vanilla, coffee and orange. You’re imaging Fry’s Five Centres, which launched in 1934 but went to the great conveyor belt in the sky in 1992

Does anyone recall "Supersonic Flyers"? A thick hollow stick of liquorice with fizzy sherbet in the middle.
Plus Tobermory tatties. Every small sweetie shop seemed to sell its "own" puff candy. Whose was the best
"puff candy"?

Ross's was'nt a home made Puff candy, but was a very popular brand.

Puff candy's brilliant fun to make.

Take the biggest pot you have in the house (you'll need it, really), melt a few tablespoons of Golden Syrup with a few of sugar, then add a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda and watch it go. Excellent.

Was puff candy really hard when you bit into it and then tasted like a crunchie consistency?

Some puff candy was more like toffee and could pull your teeth out!! Some shops used to sell it broken up in lumps. Ross's was always wrapped. Rather posh! Can you still get Cabana's? Got talking at work to-day re "old sweeties" and someone thought they were still about.

as previously stated Monster Bar
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.
