a wee amendment to my first and last gig, went to see ultravox last night 11 april, they were alright on a scale of 1 to 10 i give them a 6 the music was great but the only time any of the band spoke to the crowd was when midge said:its good to be back:I like when a band has a bit of banter with the audience ,the best example I ever seen of that was Billy Joel he could have blethered all night,so Midge & boys must do better!

You went to an Ultravox gig and expected chat. They're to cool for chat. Can you imagine an Ultravox joke.

Well, the punchline would have to be "It means nothing to me". Damned if I can think of a suitable beginning and middle though.

Honestly can't remember my first gig... The first two memorable gigs were possibly INXS at the SECC Kick tour, or Glasgow Fleadh at Glasgow Green featuring a very inebriated Rory Gallagher. Last gig...going to see the Zombies at the ABC next Tuesday.

First: Iron Maiden, World Piece Tour, Colston Hall, Bristol, 1983

Last: The Hamsters, Bristol Fleece and Firkin, 1999

I've seen other live acts in pubs since then, but nothing with any recognised pedigree.

I wish!
Actually, my mum took me to the Fleadh...along with her drunken friends. I do remember seeing Rory Gallagher, Andrew Strong (guy from The Commitments) and Christy Moore but not much else. Similarly, the only thing I really remember about the INXS gig is that their support was Jesus Jones...and they were shit, with the exception of International Bright Young Thing, which they opened and closed their set with!

I have vague recollections of a support band that was called Big Pig, which was composed of 3 drummers in rubber aprons. Although I was rather scooped at the time, so I may be getting a bit confused
