i know 100 percent they have a Black Museum there... Some of my Friends are policemen and told me about it ?

Yes, I have seen around the museum - it was a few years ago during the Glasgow Open Doors Weekend - very interesting, the curator was on hand to give details of the exhibits.

Access for individuals & groups can be arranged - details here

Also worth a visit is the Glasgow Police Museum in Bell Street

Nope I know Bell Street and where the Cleansing Depot was if thats what you mean.

I'm not aware if there was/is a shooting range - i'd have thought it a bit unusual given the proximity to what was / is a busy and heavily populated area.

There was indeed a range under the Police HQ in St Andrews Square, Saltmarket. Hope the address is correct as it was 55 years ago when I shot there. Couldn't have been more than fifty yards and the targets were wound back to the shooting platform with a pulley system wth bicycle wheels and wire, my job and the reward was a couple of rounds with my fathers .22

Heeeey does anyone know the new location of the Strathclyde Police Museum? It was in Pitt St but thats obviously closed. Im looking for the location of the guns used by Peter Manuel and I think they were there before... I don't think they are in the GLASGOW police museum but if anyone knows would be a great help!

The Glasgow Police Museum is not the same as the former museum at Pitt St. The Strathclyde Police Museum was more akin to Scotland Yard's Black Museum.

A very interesting place. Our family has given over 150 years of service. (Scotland, England, Canada and New Zealand)
