on a side note the woollies Bety Huton wrote a book that was published in Glasgow way back. I've never seen a copy. Been hunting for it for years

When Heilan' Jessie's opened (in the mid 80's?) it was a hotbed of traditional music (sadly, much of it Irish) and something of a home from home for the SLA.

She used to carry a tin of beans in her handbag and if she ever got any abuse (which I'd imagine was an occurrence not too infrequent in this city!) she'd just wallop the fucker in the face with it
