The West End, do we really know it?

Postby peter » Mon Nov 19, 2007 6:18 pm

Having lived all my life in Glasgow .I thought that I knew this toon well. However for over a month now I have been trundling around in a distinctive sprinter van all over the place. For me it has been an eye opener to the places I thought I knew well. Having access to houses closes tenements etc the sights are just amazing. Wood panelled closes. Wally closes tiled closes , town houses secret gardens in fact a real eye opener. Half the time I wish I had my camera. I have been to the houses of many of the well known celebs in the West End. Some are wow. Many are dumps. The worse places were Glasgow Harbour development . Why do they want to live behind fences and gates. Easier to live in Barlinnie. As for Lancefield Quay , what a coup. Big skwerr boxes with a view. Some are just bare with a naff Ikea settee, in what looka like a high security prison. This place seen from inside is just bammy. I could understand living like this in world troublespots but hell no in Glesga. If I get the time I will take some pics as this is a real Hidden Glasgow right under our nosesand and just beware I am out there every day trundling around in a big orange BMW Sprinter

Code: Select all
Heading back out to west just after getting parking ticket from over zealous hitler type varden.

Would you have preferred a yellow star or a pink triangle. Get a more apt simile next time you park in the wrong place.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

Looks suspiciously like the job I do, same vans, same area, with green stickers.

Hold on, was that you that didn't wave back to me the other day in Yoker or Knightswood or summat? 8O :( I know you've all just started up like, but we all wave to each other, the blues, the greens, the oranges, even the other oranges and the yellows even though they don't have the right vans and do it different. ::):

I've started smuggling my camera into work too on occasion, even though it's far too big and bulky. The pictures I've missed   I totally agree on the closes and the like.
The hill goes up and down.
