Glasgow's contribution to global warming?

Postby onyirtodd » Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:12 pm

As of a few minutes ago the lights above the M8 at Charing Cross (and as far as I could see in both directions) were on.

No doubt there'll be a 'health and safety' reason for this.

I wasn't suggesting changing them at night, just checking to see if they work.

Wages don't contribute to global warming.

the street lights at my mums house in bidhopbriggs had been on 24 hours a day for some considerable time a few years back when i finally got around to calling them myself (others in the street had tried)

after he said they will just be on for testing I asked to be put through to someone else who could help me with a problem - the guy on the other end asked what the problem was and i told them i had a problem trying to reconcile the idea of energy saving adverts on telly showing a light switch being switched off when out of the room with the street lights for 5 or 6 streets being on constantly for 2 years and 3 months and whether the press would be interested in this.

they were off by the end of the week 8O

Good to see our Council tax being put to as good a use as ever. Maybe we should initiate a daily routine of asking Alex Glass to switch the lights off when he's finished for the day.

Has anyone seen the Great Global Warming Swindle when it was aired on Channel 4? Fantastic documentary - really scuppered Gore's An Inconvenient Truth.
