Drive past every morning on route to work, its title gives no clues as to what it does... :?

That was the main office block (listed i think) of the India Tyre Factory.
The factory was situated behind it, and was demolished In 1987/88 I think. It was a massive factory and had it`s own Fire Engine, I remember a massive fire there a few years prior to the demo I could see the black smoke from Glasgow.
They also had/have a social club on Renfrew High St.
As usual, I was involved in the demo.

Does anybody know what it is exactly that they're doing at Renfrew Cross? I work out at Renfrew Retail Park and go thru it every day, and it's been a one way system for ages now. Looks like there's some sort of memorial being put up on the main street, and lots of new paving slabs!

Lynnski, bad news, it's one way there for good. They're making the southbound carriageway pedestrianised (sp?) and they have moved the war memorial from the roundabout (now gone) thirty feet further towards the town hall. The eastbound carriageway of High St is also being pedestrianised.

I don't mind it being one way, as I only ever go there by bus, but I can see it might piss locals off. It looks like it'll turn out quite nice.

I was looking for some information online and saw this old thread. For group member Ninaton, if you're still interested in Inchinnan there is now a local history group who have recently undertaken an archaeological dig at the site of All Hallows, the church that was demolished to make way for Glasgow airport. Here's the facebook page if you're interested https://m.facebook.com/InchinnanHistori ... restGroup/ . Thanks.
