For those who are interested...

I spent 20 minutes there on my way home. It was too cold, I had to come up the road for a wee cup of tea.

I must go have a look their some day.

I also want to check out Douglas West. Fancy it some day?

I just like the idea of a village created in the 1870's which disappeared in the 1960s.....

If you're free any time just let me know and I'll come down to Cambusnethan with you, I really like it in there.

Where/who/what is Douglas West?

Douglas West was a small mining village near the village of Douglas. Created in the 1870s. When the coal ran out the people were re-located to Douglas and most of the village was demolished. As far as I know there are two small houses and the school building. And that's it. Might be worth going for a look.

When I was in Primary School the Scripture Union used to run a camp there every year. There's a huge slag heap there as well which we climbed up....

Anyone up for a trip?

I am, of course, assuming that there might be something to look at....

Transport will have to be organised in advance. This ain't a place with a bus link.

Oh, and a quick Google search revealed....absolutely nothing on the net about the place.

6th of June is out. And not because I'm re-enacting D-Day or owt...

Here's a quick quiz for you: Name someone relatively famous to come from Bonkle.

Colin, you're not allowed to enter. Because you probably know.....
