I never introduced myself when i joined last year. Too shy. I'm looking for the innards of the earth and have visited, Woodilee- chased by neds! (I was with woman, otherwise I'd have fought em all. Yeah right.) Hartwood, Gartloch, St Peters, Been up the tower and all through Lennox castle and most of the old underground, except the east end sites. And i've potholed briefly in Arrochar. I would like to know how far people go to explore. I'm in that frame of mind. Je m'appelle David.

Hello HGers. I've been lurking for a few weeks, and decided it was time to join up and introduce myself. I'm an amateur photographer, living in Glasgow, though originally from Hamilton (was brought up a few hundred yards from Bent Cemetery, which a few of you have been visiting recently). I've lived a few other places in the West of Scotland too, and even ventured over to the dark side (Edinburgh) for 4 years or so. Looking forward to getting involved here, and getting to know you all.

So do YOU know where Harry Lauder's grave is? We looked for ages...

Not offhand, but I'll ask my Dad if he knows. He still lives in the family home there, and a couple of his rellies are resident in the Bent.

Hey

I'm Tom, 24 years old and I work for the Ambulance Service in the Control Room, in Paisley. Lived in North Glasgow all my life and love the city to bits. I came across this site after driving home from work the other night across the Kingston Bridge and wondered how much the city has changed in the past ten years - it's funny to look at either side of the city from the bridge and realise how much of a change there is...

Anyway - great site, spent hours already just going through all the posts!

Tom

Update on the Harry Lauder situation: Got an email back from the old man, and he says he knows he has seen the grave, but can't recall offhand where in the cemetery it is. He's been unable to get up there since I asked him, because of the constant pissing rain this week, but he'll go when he gets the chance and have a recce. He reckons it might come back to him in situ. I've suggested he takes his new digital camera, but I'm not sure if he's worked out how to use it yet! (he's 83!).

Just wanted to say hello.

I joined the site in late July, and I've had a great time looking through the forums.
I especially like the old/new pictures, although it's makes you cringe when you see some of the great buildings that we've lost over the years.

Looking forward to spending a lot of time on the site.

Bob
