Hello everybody...

I'm Jim and I've just joined.

I probably know a few of you already from Flickr (same screen name)... so the logical progression was find an additional way to blight my productivity at work by sigining up to Hidden Glasgow. Not that I am worried as I finish my job in 3 days time! :D

Anyways - I have an unhealthy obsession for photography, and cameras - not as bad as others but I am already realising that there are not enough days in the week for a 'camera a day' approach.

I like: High Rise flats; old shipyards; wee cafes; semi derelict shopping centres; watching old episodes of Taggart/Rab C to see parts of Glasgow back in the 80s; the Museum of Transport - (the smell of inside the buses takes me back to going to Govan to visit my Auntie Nellie as a kid)

So... hello.

Jim :)

Postby elgee » Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:10 pm

hi, I stumbled on this forum recently and have really enjoyed reading your very informative posts and seeing the cracking photographs of Glasgow, a city I love. Although I dont actually live in the city I do work there and have done for a number of years. I look forward to being part of this forum, learning more about Glasgow and maybe going on some of the outings. :D

Evening all!

Stumbled across this site when I was off work with the cold last week and really enjoyed the photos both old and new.

I was brought up in Coatbridge and now live in Queen's Park but some of the stuff I saw on here brought home to me how much of the city I don't yet know.

Looking forward to reading and looking at more, not to mention contributing my own brand of drivel to the forum. :D

Hello All Gods Chosen People.
I am trapped in the land of heathens and long for the sweet sound of Glasgow patter, imagine my delight when i found your site. Oh! utter bliss to read all your words. I left Glasgow in the early seventies and travelled to this godless land. Now i am homesick and want to return to the land of the happy and humerous.
Don't be silly.all clever people have big ears...........
