SPT have buckled again to public pressure and have confirmed via twitter this afternoon that the sign will be restored to its rightful place outside the station.

When will these SPT blowarses realise that they're only the custodians of the subway, and t actually belongs to the people of Glasgow.

So, as a part-owner, you'll be happy to cough up your share of the renovation costs?

Josef

I guess your meaning for The Egg Man to elaborate on his "that's just wishful thinking" statement, but here's my tuppence worth and justification to my claim  of part ownership of the aforementioned Subway.

my Zonecard money is paid to Scotrail, who then electronically transfer the funds to SPT who happen to run the subway, SPT take a cut and apportion monies to other public transport operators based on passengers carried using Zonecards.

I pay my council tax, some of which Glasgow City Council use to part fund SPT in conjunction with some of the other local authority council areas of the former Strathclyde Region, this money is used amongst other things to fund local bus services, trains oh AND the Glasgow Subway, which is as previously stated run by SPT.

I also pay income tax, which although is collected by HMRC on behalf of the Westminster Governing body, a portion of this is paid back to the Holyrood governing body, which in turn uses this money for many things, including Transport Scotland, who in turn fund SPT who in case you have forgotten run the bloody Glasgow Subway!! 8O

That the share of Council Tax + fares which goes to SPT goesanywhere near the cost of running the subway.

It's not a '5', it's an 'S' I think. Just in case we didn't know it was a subway train and we mistook it for a number 37 bus.[/quote]
